Final Prep for Cold Wars Complete

This weekend I finished working on Saga figures and terrain for Jim's Cold Wars game.  The figures are from several different manufacturers.  The fenced in enclosure is made from wattle fences by Renedra.

I also managed to finish some Old Glory FIW figures for use with Muskets and Tomahawks.  Hopefully they will see some game action soon.

Muskets & Tomahawks in Abingdon

Sunday I stopped by Critical Hit Games in Abingdon, MD for a game of Muskets & Tomahawks - part of an ongoing effort to bring historical gaming to those who only know the Games Workshop universe.

A force of Canadians was raiding into British territory with the intent to kill or drive off some settlers (The Slaughter mission).  A force of British regulars were nearby and deployed to protect the settlement (The Protection mission).

The battle swung back and forth....first the Canadians routed a unit, then the British routed a Canadian unit.  Ultimately, the Canadians drove the British from the field and razed the settlement.

Unfortunately, I usually forget to take pictures.  The game generated some interest but not sure I gained any recruits....this time.  The Saga game Jim and I ran last weekend did result in a couple of players purchasing Saga armies.

Finished painting two more units for Muskets & Tomahawks - Canadian Militia.  The figures are not the best sculpts but the price was right - Old Glory Army Card.

Rangers Lead the Way

I finished painting up two units of Rangers for Muskets and Tomahawks.  They are from the British Wilderness Force set (North Star Figures) and had been "aging" in my lead pile since NashCon 2013 (I shall paint no lead before its time!).  They turned out to be easier to paint then I had expected - nice casting.  Their Indian allies are next.

I also put together a New France Settler's Lofted Log Cabin 4 from 4Ground.  It went together as easily as the other four 4Ground buildings I have - no problems.
